Iraq
Anglican clergyman, Canon Andrew White, is known as the "Vicar of Baghdad." For the past decade, he has tirelessly worked to promote peace in Iraq and is a human rights advocate; particularly for Iraqi children who have been affected by the tragedies of war. Although he is wanted dead or alive, negotiates on behalf of hostages, has been tortured, threatened, kidnapped, and has had over 20 members of his staff murdered, Canon White is a true 21st century hero.
On October 18, 2010, he was awarded the prestigious 2010 Train Foundation's Civil Courage Award at the Council of Foreign Relations in New York City.
If you want to read more about his work, please visit The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East.
Please donate money to Iraqi children this holiday season. 100% of your money will go towards buying food for impoverished children in Baghdad.
Every Sunday, Canon White and his staff provide groceries for Iraqi families and he has also started two medical clinics that service people who would otherwise never receive treatment.
Thank you!
