Jordanka Inc.

Jordanka Inc. was founded in 2008 and is a US-based custom fashion design and publishing company. The business is committed to using its resources to help orphaned, abandoned, and institutionalized children in the US and overseas.

In July 2009, Jordanka Inc. is releasing its first children's book, The Adventures of Jordanka. 10% of book sales will go towards helping needy children in the Czech Republic.

History

Sometimes in life, seemingly mundane days can produce unexpected gifts, and difficult, challenging times can lead to new visions and ideas.
Several years ago, Ms. Teske was cleaning spa bathrooms at The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown in Washington, DC. Though she loved the friends she met there, she yearned for more. One day, the lifelong lover of jewelry stumbled upon the most beautiful Russian chandelier necklace she had ever seen. Of course she could not afford it, but a friend encouraged her to try to make her own. A few trips to flea markets and a bucket of Bohemian chandelier crystals later, Ms. Teske was creating gorgeous earrings and necklaces.
During the same time, her work with abused children had produced in her a strong desire to help the world's most valuable treasures -- the young and vulnerable. A 2005 visit to Romanian orphanages cemented that desire. In 2006 and 2007, additional trips to African orphanages broadened her interest to use her business resources to assist children in all nations, not only the US and Europe. When her interest in jewelry making, fashion design, and storytelling all combined, Jordanka Inc. was born.
